Wedding Cake Top - Knight of Alahan - WIP, part 4
Hi All, This is the Fourth "Work In Progress" shot of the diorama I’m doing for my Wedding Cake topper. To recap, basically, the idea is a Red Lioness, done in variations of white, and a Knight of Alahan, done in black or dark blues [turned into Golds and Reds]; representing the Bride and Groom (me). The figures will be standing on a snowy river bank about to cross a stream to a grassy spring like bank. This is the fourth piece completed, the Knight of Alahan himself. After finishing his horse, I went to sleep at about 6:30 am for about 4 hours and managed to finish him on April 7th, around 5:30 pm, at this point I was basically 99% done, leaving only the diorama base to be completed. This would have to be finished after a sushi dinner with the Guys in the Wedding party. We had the Stag the weekend before so fortunately for my painting hand, dinner was booze free. I sat down at the painting table by about 10:00 pm and finished the base by about 11:30 pm. I tried a few new things with the base, Woodland Scenics Snow and Realistic Water. Since the Realistic Water takes about 24 hours to dry, it was touch and go, but by about 3:00 pm on the Wedding day the Cake top was put together and ready to go, by 5:30 pm it was sitting on the cake. Lucky it was a Black Tie evening Wedding. WIP shots: To see the White Lionesses' horse go here ID #49441 To see the White Lionesses herself go here ID #50263 To see the Knight of Alahan's Horse go here ID #51227 More to follow ...... :D Cheers, Darkblade [AAvH-Darkblade]
