Sister of Battle Canoness

This Sister of Battle Canoness was painted for White Dwarf. I had painted a number of other figures, which were used in the Step-by-Step painting guide published in issue 292. This was intended to be a demonstration of a high quality leader, to accompany the other figures, but it was not used in the article. She’s painted up as a member of the Order of the Bloody Rose and as you can see I opted to use NMM. The red starts with a mix of Scab Red, Scorched Brown and Chaos Black and then is worked up by adding Scab Red, then Red Gore and finally Blood Red. It’s actually the second one I painted like this as I was doing a painting demonstration in my local GW store and there was an accident with a case lid, which snapped off the mace and flattened the head. I’ve seen some reactions to accidents before but nothing will ever beat the look on the staff members face when he saw what he’d done. To save his further embarrassment, he’ll remain nameless. Hope you like this as much as I enjoyed painting it. Comments as always welcome.

fantastic model i love it, great work on the NMM but the only thing stoping it from reaching a 10 is if the red armour was as good as the sisters on the first page of your gallery, but still a great model mike, you never cease to amaze me.
