[WIP] Dark Angels Chaplain

This is a work-in-progress shot of my Dark Angels Chaplain. I actually thought it was done until I saw the pictures! I'm going to be going back and completely re-working the black armor as well as adding one more level of highlight to the NMM work on the Crozius and the Aquilla. I also think the death-mask needs a little more contrast--it's too flat right now. Lastly, the boltgun metal finish on the Boltpistol doesn't work with the paint style on the rest of the model. I'm not sure I'm going to NMM it, but I am going to re-work it from the beginning. I'm looking for any additional feedback on where this model can be improved. Thanks so much!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm re-working the gold and adding a bit more depth. I think you're dead-on with the bolter--it's just not working as MM next to everything else. On the robes, normally I'd agree with you, but this model is part of a larger army where one of the running visual cues is all the robed characters are wearing brown robes. Check my tac squad for an example: http://www.coolminiornot.com/?id=54329 I think what I'm going to do is "cheat" a bit and maybe over-highlight this one just to get more contrast. I may also do some freehand work along the edges of the robe...but that's scary! :) Thanks again for the comments!

Ok feedback time.:D IMHO I believe that the gold NMM is good as a basis but just needs a little extra highlight to go "Bling!" The mixing of NMM & GOFM doesn't always work and can look odd I think that this is the case here as well. Personally I would go forthe NMM on the Bolters as well. One thing I would personally change is the robes. I think that using the brown is too dark and 'Dulls' the mini a lighter, ceam or pale grey would still hold the strength of the character but give a nice contrast to the Black Armour.
