I really enjoyed painting this one... The thing between it's legs reminded me of a leaf... so he was painted to look kind of 'foresty'... The colours on the skin are made from lots of very thin, watered-down glazes over a white undercoat... it took quite a while but I'm happy with the subtle colour changes. I've added a couple of close up shots, where it can be seen a little clearer. The NMM was painted from sombre grey, cold grey, stonewall and finally white.... the rust is smoke, red leather, orange and ochre... various blues were added too. The copper is Red leather and dwarf skin, with bone white for the tints. Please feel free to comment... Cheers! :)
