Sister Christina, CMON Contest 3 Re-submission

Sister Christina, a petite blue-eyed blonde atop a jet-black stallion. Clad in leather armor with gold filigree, silver elbow and knee protectors. Her hooded-cape is lined in royal blue with a gold braided design at the hemline; a woolen exterior in blue/green plaid, for warmth during her night rides. She even has a dimple in her chin, much like my own and a natural blush on her cheeks and lips. The deep burgundy pad beneath the brown leather saddle has matching, gold filigree and the sheath has been painted in similar, dark reds with gold trim. All metals have been painted using the NMM technique. She’s mounted on an entirely, hand sculpted base, which includes an old, gnarly tree, a small water feature trickling down from the rocks above, leaf litter/ground cover and various colors of moss. Christina is removable from the larger base for gaming. The 4”X4” square base was stained in dark walnut and then coated with polyurethane finish. My entry was inadvertently removed after submission on 6/14/04 due to problems with sizing and home website. With borg’s permission, I am resubmitting my entry….Now all I have to do is play catch up! Hope you enjoy her and again, I’d like to wish all who enter this contest the very best of luck!

The cape is really good. I actually like this mini now.

The freehand is great, the tartan especially. I also like the look of the leather straps and saddlebag a lot. The base sets her in a great scene, as well as looking good on its own.

Thanks, Klute, for your wonderful comments. No, my sculpt had no eyes and her nose was smashed beyond recognition, so I sculpted the eyes and did a little re-constructive surgery on the nose using green stuff. The base was sculpted entirely from Sculpey over wire and I used Woodland Scenics, Water Effects. Thanks again! The tartan took about 3 hours to paint with wonderful results. Faye
