Renaissance hero

I had been putting off painting this model until I figured out what I wanted to do with it. The sculpture work was so nice I wanted to do it justice. Because NMM effects are prohibitively time consuming for all but the smallest army collections, I reserve my experimentation for the odd character model. On this model the harness is supposed to be more of a dull'munitions grade' armor. As I get better versed in this technique,I'll try tackling more ambitious projects.

IIRC that was the origin of the original term "black knight." He was an indepenant knight who didn't have a staff to keep his armor in fine polish and so over time the armor darkened. Hence "black." It's a good example of dark NMM and a good start on the technique. Oh and the rest of the mini is good as well.

I really like this toned down neutral effect, think it works great. as far as constructive goes, worst thing would be the horses plume, I would suggest trying to model a bit more texture onto it.
