Chaos Sorcerer Necromancer

This piece was entered in the Fantasy Single Miniature category at Gamesday Baltimore 2005. It made first cut, surprisingly enough. That's a recurring theme for me; always enter an undead or necromancer style piece in every Gamesday I go to. ^_^ The Chaos Sorcerer is a simple conversion. I thought the hand blade thingee he had was sort of dumb looking, so I turned it into a scythe. Because scythes are like, cool and stuff. Also, I didn't want to mess with object-source lighting (I'm fairly good at doing it, I just don't LIKE doing it), so I yanked off his fire-encrusted claw and gave him the scythe arm from that nurgle rider guy that GW makes. The puppet is just a chaos familiar attached to the arm with wire and thread, but kinda goes with the whole "AR1ZE FROM UR GRAVE U R PWND BY MY NECRO PWRS K THX ." Oh, the tree is sculpted. I covered up one of the limbs in the photo with an insert, but I very much like how the tree came out. Garbage-bag wire twisted around and covered with brown stuff, then "scored" with a pin or sculpting tool. Takes forever to do since you have to wait between doing each branch or trunk to have a solid base to work from, but looks oh so nifty. Kep

Fine, fine job! I like the familiar, but the touches I most like are the blood slowly dripping from the scythe blade, and the tree. REALLY nice job on the tree, esp. the face. The whole scene was put together very well and shows quite a bit of creativity. Bravo!

PH34R T3H N3CRO P0WARZ. Excellent piece here, E-Arkham. The tree is, yea verily, awesome and perfectly suits the theme. I love the little familiar, he's *ahem* cute. I think perhaps the cloak of the necro could use some more freehanding, just a mark of Chaos Undivided or something. On the whole, the scene is excellent.
