There's something very striking here:
The black parts look fantastic. Black is usually harder than other colors to highlight but it looks really good here - but then the brown and red look relatively flat and the metalics (except for the hand spikes) looks totally unhighlighted.
Perhaps the lighting is messing up the picture, because the light is very harsh to cast such a shadow.
