I enjoy painting sci fi and fantasy models quite a lot, yet I find historical subjects can be just as varied and just as exotic. This greek hoplite is from Foundry. I found it very enjoyable to paint.
Nice, more peaple should put so much effort into historical mini's, it seems to be acceptable to slap heavy layering on them.Personaly I feel if you'd tryed to define the teeth he could look like "Cletus the slack jawed yokel", so I'm glad you didn't.
This is a great figure (I like the foundry models) and there are lots of very good points. The armour has a great warm colour to it, could be metal or hardened leather but either way very nice/appropriate. The other colours are also very complimentary (would like to see the shield though : ) The only thing I would say is that the teeth need some separation (three lines would do it) but maybe its reflection off the model blocking the detail. Still a very nice historical piece. Great job!
