Is it ok to mix water with MIG fixer?

Just wondering; has anyone tried mixing MIG Pigment Fixer with water to thin it out and make it last longer?

Just wondering if it needs to be used direct from the bottle or can be thinned more.

Use lighter fluid instead, it's far far cheaper and does the same job (great for oil paints as well when using small blob patterns for weathering vehicles)

Depends on how you use the pigments. Lighter fluid works well to fix a pigment wash or just pigment brushed on dry. But, if you apply heaps of pigment to make dry mud or caked dirt or something, the best product I know of to fix it and make it sturdy enough is the MIG pigment fixer.

The fixer is enamel based, so I don't think it mixes well with water.
