There's been a few threads with some of his sculptures, but I hadn't seen his website and there's plenty of stuff there I hadn't seen. It's very inspirational.

Cake or Death?
I love the sculpture, but I think I could have done without the pretentious intro paragraph on his opening page "explaining" his work.

I think I could spend hours studying "Opera for the Apocalypse."

oh dear, i skipped that, i wish i hadn't read it now

why is he writing about himself in the 3rd person?! god i hate that

It's written like that because it makes it easy for agents, journalists, gallery owners etc to to cut and paste the resume into publicity material for exhibitions/reviews etc. It's a pretty standard way of composing PR fluff. It does come across as a little pretentious though lol.

Yeah! but it's all part of the artist's PR and necessary to fluff-out the art itself. Pretentious bollocks is what makes the artworld tick. I would imagine that someone paying lots of cash for art to expect a little more than 'I made some stuff about dead guys... what does it all mean? Dunno really.... I just felt like it'... the (psuedo) intellectual fluff is a foil for extracting hard currency from wallets.

I like it, it's part of the game :D
