[Angel Of Death]

hi guys,

Been a while since i posted anything..
I painted this mini a while ago now, and it just came first in a painting comp at my LGS so im pretty stoked. The pictures probably dont do it justice but its my favourite and, i daresay, best mini i've painted to date.

I feel my paintings been improving in leaps and bounds lately, and i hope others can see it too in the difference between this mini and some of my older submissions. Sometimes when i paint certain minis, nothing seems to work how i imagined it and they get added to my ever growing pile of WIP's . But everything just seemed to work with this mini, i had loads of fun painting him.

Anywhoo, i'd really like to get some crits on this guy and a couple of other submissions ill be posting over the next few days. Im hoping to attend GD next year before its too late to enter into under 18's hehe.

Which GD? Cos as far as I'm aware there's no such thing as an under 18's section.
Youngbloods are for under 15's, over that age and its into the melting pot with everyone else.

The Aussie GD. Fortunately for me there is still an under 18's category. Well, atleast there was this year, so i assume there will be next year.

I like this mini and you painted it realy well. How did you made snow? I mean what technic you used, to achieve this result.

keep seeing these and keep thinking to myself must pick one up .. nice job would be better if you could balance the colour of the image better looks a bit yellowy currently...

The pic is not really good but the mantle is really well done and the metal also look great. I just don't like the face it is too much reddish.

Hope you don't mind, but i took the liberty of adjusting the colour of your picture. I like the face, it looks beaten and red like it should on a man out in the cold.

Thanks for that chrome, your pic looks alot better. I'll definetly have to try that on some of my other pictures.

Thanks to everyone else that commented aswell. I'll admit that faces and skin is something i really struggle with and need to improve on. Anyone got any good tips or recipes? It really seems to be a hit or miss thing for me.

Corgan: The snows really simple. Its just a mixture of pva glue, bicarb soda, and water. I just kept adding either more bicarb or water until i got it right.

@crazyboyae1: you are quoting American GD rules which aren't the same as other countries. Australia where Angel of Death resides has two under 18 Categories.

I wana see youngbloods get better at least in NM well next year there will only be baltimore but it better get better, last year YB here wasent to the standard it has been before.
