Youtube embeding?

How do you embed a Youtube link so that the video shows up on the posting? I have tried A LOT of different combination's.............GRRRRR

On the Youtube page on the right side there are two windows,URL and embed
Take the code in the embed window and paste it on your post. Hight light the code and then press the Youtube button above. It should bracket your code with YouTube code thing ( technical gargin ). If you preview it would show up.

For me its a hit and miss on posting pictures. I did it once and now I tried to do it again and it doesn't work. I have a Picasa Account

I think its a browser/browser extention thing. Rugne had a similar problem recently here, hopefully he will come on & tell you how he got around it because i'll be f**ked if i can remember :beerwave:

Are you running Noscript on firefox?
Despite having everything allowed, it was still playing silly buggers with me.
Try looking at the forum with a different browser, one that's standard out of the box.
Chrome is relatively lightweight (the browser, not the forum member, I'm sure he's a strapping lad)

Give that a try, if it's working on there, then you know it's the browser,if it's not then... hmm.

Copy the "embed coding" from the Youtube you want in your post, then past it between the tags, so:


Ta Da!, it works in Firefox 3.5.7

That works for me, that is the embed code between the youtube brackets like this:

You'd think that'd be all you need. I tried doing that a while back, and I had to grab the EMBED version of the URL, rather than the straight URL at the top. Don't know why, but it wouldn't work with just the URL.

That's what got me. There was nothing that said NOT to use the regular URL.

Yeah that's what I was saying basically, andthe Tags did show up in the preview. That'll teach me to actually check the post properly next time

Ah, sorry you do have to use the embed code, not the plain URL. You see that the normal link doesn't work immediately you press on Preview Post, so I thought that would be obvious.

You need the embed code wrapped in the vBulletin YouTube codes, just like in Chrome's post.

Don't worry Shawn, you are not alone in doing that.
It's just worse when it happens on a Server you're building and you find out part way through you've misspelled the standard build password.

Actually for youtube embedding all you need is the code of the video, in the case above "kom0X4AX_uM" between the youtube tags. This is explained when you hover over the youtube button in the full edit menu.

XP. Another I.T. friend (God bless the geeks!!!) had a disc that 'cracked' it in about 1 minuet. He was able to take it back to a restore point.

The person who set up my computer included a thing where you had to select who was going to use the computer as it fired up then it would go on to finish starting up. Well, I'm the only one and simply like to hit the power and get on with it. I went into some thing in the control panel and thought I had turned off that feature. When I started it up the next time, the blue screen that usually had the user icon to click on, there was nothing so I couldn't get far enough to reverse what I had done!!
