and one last thing... why, exactly, is it that people lick the brushes?

there's two ways to change the newbie...
1. post 100 posts and become a senior member
2. pay up some cash and subscribe CMON, then you can write anything you want.

many reasons to brushlick lol, but i lick mine simply to get a more pointed brush

@Lyuun: It sure is! Just HOW unhealthy depends on the brand of paint, how much paint you have on it and all that, there have been a few -let's call them vivid- discussions about just that around here. To sum it up, when it all comes down to it it's just a matter of personal preference: do YOU find it safe enough/worth the risk or not? I am a brushlicker myself but just like with everything else, if you doubt the sanity in doing so, even a little, then don't.

Hell yes. How do you think people come up with these weird paintjobs? Of course, you also build up a resistance...which means you need to load the brush even more to get the same amount of kick.

haha... Oooookaaaay... *looking around himself in a disturbed manner* so the benefits of licking the brush are, you get a pointier brush, chance of getting high, chance of insanity. (yes, i filed insanity under benefits. i mean, the world would be so much better if human didn't insist on being so damned logical about everything...) have i missed anything?

yeah don't do it with enamels or oils, they taste AWFUL.

Liquitex flow improver and GW foundation paints are pretty awful to lick, too.
