I don't use the lights that came with it as they don't seem bright enough, but it works well enough for getting photos of minis.

I use light tents all the time, the one you are looking at looks like it is a very good deal and has a decent set of lights with it as well (its using the spiral lamps which are cooler than normal photo balanced lamps).
I would be dubious about the tripod though as often these can be cheap and nasty so you might want to buy a better quality one at a later date but other wise this kit has everthing you are going to need plus a bit more and at a good price.

I built my own light box. I used an old diaper box and some tissue paper and I use clamp lights with regular bulbs in it them seem to do the trick improved my photos immensely.
This one box used my freind, as he has photographed the beginning of my/my hubbys war walker. It was REALLY amazing, what a difference it made.
But he told me a price approximatly about 20 €.. this one seems for me rather expensive...

I use that type, I've got the 50cm one, got it from Steves Photo Shop he also has a website now, if you don't want to use ebay. He has a good selection of photo lighting gear, and his delivery time was pretty quick too

That is the light box I have, but without the lights or camera stand.
And to be honest 20€ doesn't seem too bad a deal to me, as looking at a tabletop tripod yesterday, it was the thick end of £60. (68.29€)

I picked up a tent only that looks identical to this from maplins, cost me 6£ (10$ish) in a sale. Then use halogen desk lamps i'm "borrowing" from work

A good plan of action could be to visit a local camera club? or a decent photographic equipment supplier? though often photographers are gadget collectors- this may work in your advantage, get almost new used equipment second hand! they can also be very "equipment divas",having equipment that is far too advanced for their needs, but pointing out that the photographer takes a picture not a camera sometimes helps!

I think that's partly a matter of taste, as well as budget of course.
Some people use proper photo bulbs (or even whole lights) but many just use a decent normal room bulb or tube. With the amount of post-processing possible even to the recreational user, plus the ability of digital cameras to adapt to different white points, many different light types will work okay - I think the main thing is really that you have enough of 'em and that they'll all of the same colour balance, so ideally all the same kind.
