Here's a little something that I've been working on a while to improve on my painting skills. I am not totally sure how to further improve myself at the moment though... Please help?

skin is too red in the recesses (esp. the crotch). the face needs some more punch. for lips most painters start off painting them fairly dark, then go over them with the lighter base color, then hilight up to white. this gives the lips a lipliner like feel. i doubted that advice at first, but it works very well. second, id frame her eyes as well. think girls makeup - eyeliner is intended to do this very same thing - exaggerate the eyes(by using contrast) to make them a focal point. in miniature painting we need to exagerate everything in this way - mini eyes are no exception. line the eye with a dark color, shade the upper eyelid (a little color is nice here for the females), hilight just below the eyebrow; shade VERY subtley below the eye (unless you want her to look old or tired) and hilight the cheek. watch a few makeup videos and it'll help.

back of the cloak is looking really good - nice work with the red.

You have to highlight and shade more the whole mini and to blend a bit everything, especially on the brown armour.

I echo what has been said above. The cloak is really a bit flat for such a large area and would really benefit from some additional highlighting / shading. For the shading you can use Scorched Brown or a dark green / blue depending on the look of the final colour. The highlights can be Dwarf flesh is you want a more natural look or just a brighter orange if you want a more cartoon type feel to the model.
