Cheers for that heads up. And the linky. Never knew about that shop, just around the corner from Waterloo, I should pop in sometime.

WAY too many high quality, cheaper, and much more interesting gaming systems and models out there.

Not that GW doesn't do high quality, but how long has it been since they've done something new or innovative? You can't rest on your laurels with 'new editions' for ever GW!

jeeeezzzzz how can anyone keep up. i want to start a fantasy army, but fork that. Supervike your so correct, i bought a dragon from cmon store for $9 like £5 or so and i had the most fun painting. If i buy a squad of space marines thats a weeks gas or lekky!

Exactly!
While GW do produce some good quality figures their prices have put a drastic reduction on the amount I buy now.
After the Salute show I'm more and more convinced that GW are so drastically overpriced that its rude.
Classic example:
From Black Scorpion, I bought the Limited Edition Lord Nelson (Superb Sculpt) for £6.00. (A quality equal to, and probably better than, GW's own sculpture).

To combat those prices, I usually use different systems models for my lords and characters. Wood Elves are pretty easy to do this with. A lot of the times I'll go out of my way to find minis from older systems that aren't used anymore, and purchase those to use in my (strictly amateur) army. Can't really bring it to a tourney, but eh.

I'll take a scotch on the rocks.
