Hi guys

haven been in this forum for a long time , but i had a huge college examen ( whiched i aced :victory: ) and i am now buisy with earning a little money through work and commission painting ( i really, really hope i will have some decent pictures to upload next week.)

but now my question: Im currently painting a warjack for my Cryx Army ( Seether in case you wonder ) and my concept for the base is, that the jack stands on a few rocks emerging from some rusty/acidic looking liquid containing bits like cogwheels and a skull or two. Well the base is done so far, the only thing I haven´t quite figured out is how to do the water
I need some water effect that can:

a) be poured in a very thin layer on a 50mm round base - say, about 1.5 mm
b) i wanna colour it with inks, so i need something that can be easily mixed with acrylic colours

any ideas / tips which water effect would do the job?

1.5mm, you might be ok with Water Effects. You could squeeze some into a disposable cup and mix in an insy bit of ink paint.

Two part clear resin is really nice too but takes a little more effort. It also has the better effect as when you pour it, you can dip a toothpick into a separate ink color of your making and swirl it around a little. This also affords you the opportunity to coerce those stubborn remaining ari bubbles.

The two part resin will flatten out and look like still water, where some of the water effects are thick enough when you lay then down that surface will remain as you applied it.

@ magno: maybe i should have been a little bit clearer with my question:

There are plenty odf deifferent water effect products, resins, ect out there and i wanted which one you would use. i Got Vallejo Water Effects, which is great for icicles , but cannot be mixed with acrilyc colours, hence my questio if you know one taht can be mixed.

what about GW´s hobby water ? It seems it´s exactly what i´m looking for but so far i cant´t find an independent site where somebody actually tested the stuff. Did Anyonew here got any exoperience using it?

As I understand it is Woodland scenics water effects, which I have used.
Best possible way is to apply in very small layers (approx 1mm) and allow to dry overnight between layers.
I use a coffee stirrer to 'drip' the water effects into the area I want rather than pour it.
