Tamiya clear paints over dullcote?

After switching from various brands of varnish to dullcote, I am wondering if I can use Tamiya clear red for blood effects on top of the dullcote. I've read many horror stories of minis being ruined as a result of some weird interaction with paint and dullcote.

I tried searching and only came up with some vague answers. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks.

I have never had a problem with it... except the constituents in the spray packs smell like horrible...
Occasionally you will have contraction cracking when using the spray pack version, due to the primer not supplying enough roughness for the overlaying layers to grip too, but this tends to happen if you use a gloss primer (err yeah not a great idea really). This however doesn't tend to happen if you are painting over the Dullcote, you may however notice that the to layer of paint chip easier (maybe, I would have to test this though).

I think this should work fine... but there's one easy way to find out for sure! ;)

Normally I would just test it, but the humidity has been all over the place the last few days. I figured I'd ask first so I can just jump right in as soon as the weather figures out what it wants to do.

Good article. I've noticed my reaper paints (specifically black) crack a lot. Mainly when diluted a lot. I'll try a little more retarded in the mix and see if that helps.

Thanks for the replies.

Thanks dude, I am working on a more comprehensive version that will include photos etc. that will accompany a compilation on paint stripping with wet tests of various chems.

Yes I have noticed the same same with Reaper paints. I the trick with them is the same, a good primer.
