Dark Elf Dreadlord

My latest work is DE dreadlord which I kind of like quite alot. I mean that sculpt itself is much better than some earlier DE miniatures. It's not full of all kinds of nicknacks and stuff, but rather simple. Face looks also nice even though it's partially covered and I never really liked those dark elves and eldars done by Chris Fitzpatrick. So this is much better.

Should I ever build Dark Elf or Dark Eldar army that purple would be the chosen color. I like that more than perhaps more traditional black/plum red that many use with DE models. Though my idea is not by any means THAT original. I saw here some fantasy (high?) elf model painted with similar type of purple color. So I combined that with turquoise. Yes I know, it looks rather blue in those pictures. It's not that blue IRL :D

I love the armour - really Slaaneshy.

What did you use for the leaves on the base? They look wicked!

Hi, I think you have done a great job the painting seems nice and neat and the colour scheme is cool. I really think you need to go a bit darker with your shading however, where this really stands out to me is the cloak. Also I feel that where the face and armour join you could use a darker line to define these areas. Do you tend to use white added to your base colour for highlights? You have some really nice pieces in your gallery, keep up the great work !!!

Well my "leafbag" doesn't have any label anymore. I think those are some kind of birch seeds.

Thanks. Yeah, I use white but also very light grey tones and/or colors like bone or yellow. Usually not just pure white.
