So I was digging in the dead and soon to be buried threads...

...and I saw the Vostroyan project.

Since I am having such a hard time getting going on my "First Founding Chapters" Display, I was wondering if anyone wanted to do something like this for the display.

Let me know if you will volunteer to paint a single Original Chapter Space Marine in their Pre-heresy original colors, and if you have or need a "cookie cutter" figure with which to do so.

We can keep it simple:

Username -- Have/Need -- Preferred Chapter Name

We will keep this very simple.

• No fancy NMM or SENMM (except for 2nd/9th Legion)
• No conversions, stick with stock figure
• No Sculpting.
• Freehand or transfers OKAY, but MUST be in ORIGINAL Chapter Symbol (not current style, i.e. Rogue Trader era)
• I only need 19 or less volunteers.

So let me know if ya'll are interested and we can motivate each other to do this.
Maybe we can even auction it off for a Charity or something.

Also some ideas for a worthy and appropriate charity?

I know the "New" versions of pre-heresy armor are much more ornate, and that rogue trader era were Mark VI? and earlier, but for the sake of simplicity, let's keep the figurees CC, and the colors and symbols RT.
And by current cc you aren't referring to the AoBR ones right?!
I am planning on making this with the 4th(?) edition "Battalion" sets, where they are all in EXACTLY the same pose, and the only difference between bolter and flamer, is a weapon swap.

also, IF, and that is a BIG IF, ...IF this gets completely out of hand, we can expand to do the Index Astartes Poster instead.
In which case we'd be doing the "Modern" versions of the Chapters.

And I have an idea for the 2 "missing/deleted" Chapters. If someone that is superior at NMM, or better yet, SENMM (Chrome) I think that would be a sweet change of pace.

The marines in it are not all the same however, there is a lot of difference between each model.

Gotchya! Not sure if I have any of those laying about, Chapters are different in appearence though, like Dark Angels, Emperors children , Space Wolves and Salamanders for example. I do have a couple of old school Blood Claws kicking about if that'll do. Same helmets and what not.

And the RT color scheme is what I was wanting to do.
DA = Black, SW = Gray(not blue), How are the Salamanders different?

Btw, heresy-era salamanders I think just had a wee bit darker green armour and their hands were painted black in addition to the "standard" modern cheme

just a suggestion but i think rule 32657-a 123b - pharagraph c, should be "ya cant do something ya wud normally do yersel".

i volunteer to watch and make tasteful comments about awlyawl work. i strongly recommend thousand sons for you chrome young man, nice splash of colour.

i have a whole pile of these up in the attic unfortunately i mutilated the shoulder pads by turning them into grey knights (all that writing and so on) they should be fixable

@Marshal - Thanks for the Research, we aren't to that point yet, but there it is. The Iron Hands haven't changed from pre-heresy. Neither have the Imperial Fists, Ultra Marines, Blood Angels, or most of the loyal ones at any rate. If this goes well, I would LOVE to have another group project that allows for the Legionnes added "flavor". But baby steps. This is more of a static 3D analysis, like a post-it from the history of the imperium and what-not.
