hello all,

once again its been a while since i losted posted anything here but i present two new wip's today. The first is "the ghost of christmas future" which was supposed to be for my local GW painting comp. Its the first miniature i've painted since GDUK so is just a means of re-learning brush control. there is still work to do, but hopefully you can all get a good idea of its direction

and the second is my first baby steps into sculpting. Im trying to create a slightly large male barbarian type character, weilding two clubs (one of his shoulder the other resting on the ground). sorry for the pictures of the sculpt (at my parents for christmas, camera left at my flat -.-) ive only done the basic bulking out of the legs/feet/bum so far.

The ghost is great - both dark, and coldly luminous at the same time. The sculpting is off to a good start, keep posting as he becomes more than a butt ;)

Reaper is great. I love the blue tones. Seems you didn't get far out of practice. Barbarian's looking good too. Judging by the legs he'll be one stocky dude (not a bad thing for a barbarian). Just be careful not to let him get too big early on, remembering that each layer will add more size and volume.

eerie and atmospheric nicely done.

i was going to say nice barbarian buns too but that might effect the butch image i like to uphold around here.

That's really nice for a first attempt at sculpting. For me, only his legs look a bit thin compared to the rest of his body.

thanks for the kind words guys. I'd agree that the legs are a little skinny, which is funny because at first i thought they would be too chunky lol. Its approximately 54mm scale but he's actually 60mm from the top of his helmet (not the horns) to the soles of his feet, i was looking at a pic in the back of the brettonian book which has a barbarian/chaos warrior a full head and shoulders taller than a normal man so i think he is approximately in scale with 54mm models. Depending on the outcome i might look at doing a few more 54mm fantasy pieces.

I'm guilty as well! He certainly is turning out nice though. Excellent first sculpt. I'm really impressed with the torso. You did a great job making him look really strong but good natural muscle tone, not like an action figure.

hey guys and gals :)

ive got a few updates to share today. there is the finished ghost, better pics of the sculpt and a new wip of Ayane (rackham). The last and the ghost are both quick pieces to try and get my brush working again. Im about to start on 2 very serious GD pieces that i might put up here sooner or later. but for now, i hope you'll enjoy these and give some great feedback. also, the sculpt is going on the back burner for a while, i might leave it and start a new one even....anyway:

ok, so uni is killing me as usual (hence why i post about once every 4 months lol but here are a few things that id love some feedback on :)

minoooo.jpg

ive only just started highlighting this mini. the chest head and part of the right arm have received highlights although i realise the head needs deeper shadows so it becomes more of a focal point. any advice on this would be great because its a competition piece for salute

this is an alternate alice in wonderland piece, where she has grown up and been sent back to wonderland, more badass and experienced in life. i was gonna do her in a woodland scene with a vortex of cards around her.

and finaly, this is a quick piece for a friend over at www.titanwargames.com Its not my usual style of painting but i thought it would be best suited to show the model off :)

any comments or advice are really welcome.

thanks again

That's looking very very nice.

Are you going to get it finished in time for Salute? Only asking as I'd love to see it in the flesh :)
