Grey knights!

Seen that. Im not going to bother. GW has got too much of my money. Im willing to bet a tenner that the terminator set will be around £30 to £35 quid for plastic models. Too expensive especialy whent the metal kit was that price. grrr

It was a pain to get a hold of but here it is:

— Article by Adam Troke

As the Emperor prepared for his final confrontation with the traitor Horus, he granted one final gift to Mankind, a safeguard and protection against the horrors of the Warp - the Grey Knights. A brotherhood of warriors as elite as they are secretive, the Grey Knights are a shining line of silvered steel that stands between humanity and the Daemons of Chaos.

Trained as the mightiest paragons of mental fortitude and martial discipline in the Imperium, the Grey Knights maintain a vigilant watch for daemonic incursion, responding wrathfully against the scions of the Dark Gods, and those who dally with them.

Clad in baroque Terminator armour and wielding powerful weapons such as storm bolters and Nemesis force weapons, the Grey Knights tear through the enemy, unleashing an onslaught of psychic powers and sorcery to sunder the foe.

The Grey Knights are an unstoppable force, the manifestation of the Emperor's will, valiant warriors who willingly sacrifice their own humanity so that Mankind itself can endure.

This April Games Workshop releases Codex: Grey Knights, alongside a comprehensive range of fantastically detailed Citadel miniatures. Although details are being kept firmly under wraps for now, you can expect an exciting selection of plastic kits to enable you to build your own Grey Knights army.

Over the coming weeks we'll be releasing more details both here on the Games Workshop website and also in the pages of White Dwarf - to ensure you're the first to get the news, make sure you subscribe to the Games Workshop newsletter and keep an eye on the What's New Today blog.

This is possibly the best news, ever, the only reason I would ever play the game again is a new GK codex and models 'cause I can't afford a Kreig army lol :D

just before the emperor teleported onto horus' ship to get all smashy on him he had comissioned his chief advisor to gather all the marines with psychic talents. these would be the first grey knights

Did anybody else notice that the new release is titled Codex: Grey Knights, not Daemonhunters or Ordo Maleus. Is this a sign that they will be scrapping all the Inquisition stuff and just releasing another overpowered marine codex?

Given the level of enthusiasm, does that mean that if 2010 was the year of the Sanguinor & endless yellow nmm, that 2011 is set for being the year of grey nmm? I wonder if it's too much to hope that Razza might do an SENMM Grey Knight article in WD that should help to bring some colour & variation into things?

Cheers, B.

I always dreamed of NMM Grey Nights since seeing the technique. Considering the last Sanguinor Razza submitted i think the 'Eavy Metal team should be producing some wonderful mini's.

If the models are good, I'm collecting as a personal army with full intent to spend 45 hours per marine cracking SENNM.

Oooh! That's one to look forward too, fingers crossed you like the new releases :) Any thoughts on the sky & earth colours of the planet they're on? I was pondering a martian red ground & then thought on grey nmm it might look too much like rust, probably better to choose a less tarnish redolent colour? Also if there are nice smooth spaces on them, if only shoulder pads, there might be room to reflect the swirl of a galaxy or star system in it? Mattsterbenz's Necron Lord's orb suggests all sorts of possibilities for cloud reflection too. I've thought before about a unit of GW Bretonnians with the huge shields that obscure most of the character & wondered if they were SENMMed as a unit you could reflect a sunset across the shields of the front rank, keep most of the rest of subsequent ranks very, very dark, with flashes of sunset reflecting off just their helmets.

Cheers, B.

Red or red tone would be preference, depends on a few things really, mainly if I go for a highly polished steel or a dulled down one, it may well end up like rust, other concideration is desert/tan which *may work* I'll do alot of mock ups on a plasticard sheet before diving in.

That's actually a really cool idea with the knights, maybe little tough with 40K as they won't sit ranked up, curious though.

It's definately something I'll pour alot of time into, always loved the GKs, just hope the models are nice haha.
