hello I have been painting for almost a year now so I am still trying to learn everything i can. So any CC and tips would be great. I am always looking at the stuff on the site and amazed at how some of you blend the colors into a highlight or shadow. For the time being though I have been playing it safe and trying to copy the color choices that i find on the box. Of course better photography will be a future step too as you can see it was shot in sunlight.

That's a good job, and considering the subject matter the colors seem like good choices. Mostly clean work too.

I think if you want to improve, the blending you mentioned is a good place to start. The highlights you have are blocky and stark, try making a mix of the highlight and base color and water it down some (maybe 50/50) then with light brush pressure go over the line between the highlight and base color. Some extra shades would be good too.

There are lots of tutorials here and on the web for blending, if you want to take the next step that's where I would start.

I would also say that some very fine brown or black lining around differing areas (skin to cloth for example) will help define the mini a bit better.

This is personal choice however, as some don't like the look of it.

But overall, I think you've got some fine looking minis here. I really like the 'see through' stocking effect, and the skin tones are nice and smooth.

Looks to be some nice work there uglybug but the lighting, which I can see from the shadows is not in your favour, is burning your colours out and killing what would be a much better image.
