If that's so, you can go ahead and take those nails out of your feet and go have some dinner.

Good job on the bald albino rat btw, lookin' guuuud!

slowly but steady! GAH! im soo tired of these rats, i want to paint trolls and ogryns and other cool stuff!

anyway, just some more highlight on the tiny rats then hes finished, exept whip arm and base. the base shouldnt take long though, the mini is consuming 90% of the surface..

Phwoa, nice, nice rats... that's an amazing paint job, no doubt!
Aye, painting squads/regiments can be daunting, I'm painting the black detailing on the marines at one a day, and I don't paint every day... :S

Take comfort in that they are looking bloody fantastic, Skel. But I do have one question. (Sorry but like space marines, these are out of my element so I have no idea what they are called) in the first photo, the rat's sabre-tooth looking pet-thing. Is that gold on it's sabre tooth? I'm asking because I'm not seeing it on the other side but when I spotted it I immediately thought of a news report I watched on the dogs in the team that went in and got Bin Laden.

The military equips their canines with titanium armor fangs on their teeth. It boosts their bite damage. I chuckled when I heard it because my first though was that it would be one hell of a modifier. But I when I saw the metal on the teeth of your little dude, I wasn't sure if that's what you were going for or if I wasn't seeing it correctly.

Great job either way tho - and I have to admit, at least with horses, I don't have to worry about squads/regiments - there is a reason why you don't see me positing pics of Britonnia knights and so on. ;)

Wow, that rat is brilliant. Hard to believe even at this magnification I can't see a single brush stroke. We'd sure never know you secretly hated to paint him. Err, I guess it's not much of a secret though. ;D

thanks a lot folks, considering i dont like this mini all that much im pretty happy how he turns out.

@kathryn; its actually no gold or metal, just the photo that play a trick. its blood. but hearing about the titanium fangs, im regreting i didnt paint it metal. sounds "cool". on a mini, that is.

um, also. stupid lightsetting somehow make all the metal look like gold. its untrue!

So now that I have successfully pressured you into working on the rat, anyway I could pressure you into teaching me how to paint?

Very nice Skel, the subtle spotty pattern on the back of the big rat, with the turn to green from the pink of the flesh, is particularly accomplished. I like :good:

Might just be the photos but the tiny rats on his back seem to be lacking a touch of depth to their eyes. Just that pinprick of glossy black that suggests a malevolent pupil glaring back :D Or is that part of the final highlighting?

Keep up the quality work. Cheers, B.

well spotted B, the rats on his back lack depth to their eyes. basically cos there is no depth. having a hard time with them actually, they are so small and well poorly casted, its like painting a face on a 15mm mini... :/

yeah Chad, that really helped. id be happy to teach, but you are like on the other side of the planet sort of...? ;)

Glad to help. It was just be a short plane trip for you! Ha just kidding, Skel, but I think looking at your photos has been a big help so far. But I may start a WIP in the future to try to learn your techniques, if you'd be up for posting. I just need to get better with the camera, or get Khavor to take photos.

top drawer...top.....drawer.
kudos to you for pushing through the final steps. i tend to let them sit for a few months at that point, then i come back to them and hate them because they look dated. get him finished and lets see what your going to crush next.
