So, the rats are history! sort of, anyway... need so find some kind of sign/plaque. or something.

off to the next project! have collected quite a few minis lately while painting the little rodents so have tons of stuff to choose from. like Enigmas demon of atrocity, metal model's king of deads, two Rackham badass dirz clones to name a few. did chose this guy though;

the gamesday only renegade ogryn.
started out with building a not-so-cool-base-yet by super sculpty, this is just the base of the base(!) and much will be added!

Really good work on those PINK ;) rats. The skin tone pleases me very much, especially because it is less intensive / a bit paler than mine. Which colours did you use?
The used metal look of weapon and armor is great, too.

Wishing you good luck for the next project :) First time working with hirstarts?

thanks Dun :) have used lots of lots of different colours painting the skin, but its mainly painted with basecoat ½ tanned flesh ½ pink, shaded with black red & dark flesh, glaced with magenta, cavalry brown, purple, smoke, um... some burbonic brown, grey... something like that.

yep first time with hirstarts :)

Uofff!
Generally, I am just using the basecoat, and then darkening 1-2 layers with black or brown; highlighting 1st layer with white and all following layers - in case of my sewers, where the torches have yellow light - with pale yellow and ebony.
E.g. painting the dwarf's cloak this (simple) way just took me approx 3,5 hours. Without any details so far - just shading.

Therefore: Won't imagine how much time you need for shading all those colour shades you use... *Wow*

Concerning hirstarts, I enjoy working with the moulds and all the elements very much.
Gives you - comparatively - quick results with many, many possibilities. And as is it casted with plaster, you can modify really everything to your imagination.
I already have two more diorama's in preparation made with hirstart stones - it's really fun to see how fast you can build up a mage's guild hall or a parapet walk.

So: Looking forward to see what you are making out of it :)

I know, he's going to be riding a giant rat! :D

Nice choice for your next project, and how does the Death Korps soldier fit into this? Can't wait to see. Have fun playing with the plaster. I've never tried Hirst molds before either, but sometimes I like to do model train scenery and such just for a change of pace. It's nice to do something a bit looser and get your hands dirty occasionally, rather than just squinting at tiny details and forcing yourself to finish a project you weren't entirely excited about. :)

I like the direction of the new project already...
The base has an interesting design to it, can't wait to see what the final result ends up being.

Loved the rats so this should be epic! Can't wait to see more of this one. The Hirst Art stuff is great innit. I've got I think 10 or so of their molds.

TY guys, images of the ratpack as a whole will come, did some adjustments today, adding little spider and other smaller stuff. guess they never going to reach 100% ;)

That base is going to be a big muddy rock, sort of. battlefield style, lots of barbed wire, mines, roots, dirt and so on. so unfortunately no mantaray, tzeentch disk, rat, elephant or other stuff lol. also, just recieved the orgyn beast handler today, but he have to wait for later. these guys are sooo cool.

also, im now a hirstart fanboy. it works like a dream, worth every penny. no pictures of anything right now because the damned camera died of course, god i love rechargeable batteries... sigh!
