About damn time I start one!

Since I last started a thread, I have been busy. Work have got in my way, trips to the land who got a hot line to God and got in to a university.

I start this thread to see if I can get better and.... There is not much else to do in Northern Sweden (Luleå).

So without further due.

For the moment I work on couple of things, a Skaven army (for some time), an Space Hulk game for the local game association (?) and now some Necrons.

I have started to paint the Catacomb Command Barge Lord.

And I must say, I love this kit.
You get to use every last bit (except 2, but I can live with it) and GW has Finally got a double kit right.
The cannon and the "railing" can be swapped without difficulty and the lord can stand there with a base.

More will surely pop up soon but for those who can't wait, click Here!

So... Back with new pics ....
As I hope you can see I'm trying for a gradient look for the vehicle and looking for some C&C.
I's there a good tutorial/technique for getting a good gradient.... I worry that the Paint/Figure ratio might turn...

Nifty scheme, almost makes a dreadfull model desirerable.

About gradients on large surfaces i cant help, i suck at them so i cheat and use airbrush

Paandrik, this is going to sound insane but I think it will work. I can get a "gradient" on horses' legs, especially a bay horse where the leg is black and the body brown. So the insane part is go read my Painting Horses: Bay article and I betcha it will work for ya. :D

Yeay.... Large surfaces is a @£$#¤, cant get that smooth finish...
I been thinking a long time now to get a airbrush.... That have to wait till I get a more permanent place.
And I do not see a "throne"... more of the Mr. Garrison Vehicle...
Still I like the model^^

yeah no need for sewing these days, just superglue the wounds, better than gaffa even! =) anyway welcome to the club, i cut my pointy finger half way through once, i hate when you realize too late that different plasic behave in different ways. snap! some nice battle scars...

there's nothing better than an airbrush when blending large surfaces

From left to right we have: The "admirer", Lets do this!, Badass, The running man, WTF and The leaning cron (but I don't think you can see that).
6 more coming up...

I'm planing to make some molds for the scarabs... four on one base don't look like a swarm to me... but that has wait till I come home and get my silicone and resin... the greenstuff pressmold do not work for me...

First thing I painted in a While... have been home (Stenungsund) over Christmas and took some minis i didn't have room for when I moved.
Now I'm home (luleå) again, and to start me up with painting again I begun with this one...

Tho theres a mold line an the arm of her and I'm thinking if its worth it to do over and do right, or if I can live with it....

Yea, the vermin lord took my breath away (didn't cont on it being so big).
As for the bonbreaker, I took a regular rat ogre (main) body and sculpted on top of it to get the muscles right, so the only parts that you can see that is plastic are the legs, tail and head.

Not so much of an update but me and a friend of my are thinking of making a modular terrain board like http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/6397-how-to-make-modular-terrain
I do not think that the making it would be a problem but more of how to store it....'

Is there some way to store it and not ruining it, without making it flat and boring?

You can make integral shelves under the table, or use a separate stand alone unit. If you stack them on top of each other you risk damaging the modules., unless they are flat.

Thats what I mean... And Im guessing that if we make it together It almost have to be portable so he can have it sometimes...

And if you make i stackable case... you will get a case thats 62(+-1)^2cm*16(+ space between boards)cm....
Maybe If you put soft foam between the boards, It may hold
