I have a WIP post on this very same figure. Super fun figure to paint. Here is some handy reference for you.

Yeah, I was leaning towards orange markings as well. I think that will look very nice in combination of the white of the armour and the black of the glass bell base. 
Cheers, dshavers! Those are some kickass reference shots, they'll come in handy for sure.
To stay in line with the Phase I trooper armour, I think I'll paint the marking along the likes of this. Orange might just be a bit too pale for fine markings. Some nice, solid markings will look better I think.

Here's some progress. It's very gently shaded, received a light drybrushing, and I added a pattern. The chest and arms were masked using masking tape but the helmet I freehanded. I painted the orange on just with a brush. Airbrushing seemed like to much hassle for just a few stripes. For some of the scratches on the orange, I dabbed on some masking fluid while other bits I painted on using a brush and some dry-sponging. I used the same dark grey as the body glove to dry-sponge on some chips and stains here and there.
The model just received a layer of spray varnish, ready for oil paints. ^^

Cheers guys! The clock is ticking for this one... 15 more days. or only two more weekends. I guess that for this one I'll have to ramp up my glacial speed a bit. An overnight drying/curing sounds enough for the varnish, so today I'll have at it with the oil paints.

Not The Pope of Disapproval, but maybe Darth Kitty might unexpectedly drop by for a surprise inspection. Those troopers are not wearing their helmets! :rotfl:
