Finally got the website running - sorta

Okay, I finally got warhorseminis.com running. There's still a lot to be done so lots of dust from construction floating around. But I moved my blog from blogspot to the website and added a small post.

I had been following the wet-palette thread and testing different suggestions to see which worked best for me. The results are in the blog post and a bit of inspiration hit as I tried something unexpected and it worked!

I also uploaded a video on metallic dry pigment application which basically shows my black griffon and how I'm applying the colors. Unfortunately when I uploaded it, the compression really reduced the quality so I'm going to have to tweak that but it works and you can basically tell what I'm doing. ;)

I also got the clicky link in my signature working! lol! So to check out the new website, blog or video, click on the banner and you'll jump right to it.

Like I said, it's rather bare right now, but we're moving right along. :D Hope to see ya there!

Oh and any suggestions and ideas for improvement both for the website and subjects to cover in the blog or videos, please let me know.

Thanks!!!

Thanks SLM! I appreciate everyone checking it out. Like I said, not much up there yet, but I'm working on it. Getting the videos together is taking the most time. And there's a ton of stuff that I want to put on there it's just getting everything organized so I can figure out where to start. lol!

Videos don't work with my iPad. :crying:

Doh! See what you get for following the crowd? lol! j/k! I even have a mobile site so it should work with your phone, not sure about vids tho. I'm getting ready to put the next two vids up so I'll see if I can get Quicktime to convert 'em.

Nah, I'm just too lazy to walk to the next room and use my desktop! :rotfl:

If you do get them up and running with Quicktime, that would be fantastic!

Meh - Quicktime (Actually Quicktime Pro) is being a butt. I'm trying to get VLC to convert it to MP4. It's an open source program and pretty good but does have it's glitches. I jumped to an Ipad forum and VLC has a free app for Ipad that will allow you to watch almost any video type. It's been great for me thus far but the conversion is hit and miss - of course its really designed to be a viewer - not an editor. The other folks on that forum liked it. So you may want to give that a shot while I wait on the PC to convert this thing. lol!

ETA: Okay MP4 version up and working (at least for me ;))

VLC has an app for that? :rotfl:I use VLC to watch all my pira...err.. copied for personal use movies, and like it more than windows media player. I'll pop on over to the app store and see if I can find it!

Edit: just tried your Black Griffon part 2 in MP4 format. Still getting the "Flash version 9.0 or greater is required" message o' doom.

Heading to app store to get VLC.

I read that website totally different, had to do a double take cause I was like "wait no, that's so inapro" lol. Think you should type it out as WarHorseMinis.com from now on.

Now I gotta go check it out.

lol! Good idea QM! When I was a kid, my family owned a feed store which was called The Horse Stop - you can imagine how that one turned out when answering the phones sometimes.
