I would like to be able to paint minis that I am proud of, not for profit or recognition and to know that I have given any mini my best. The masterclass would undoubtedly help me understand certain concepts and techniques that I am lacking in my quest.

Someone once said to me: at certain points in your painting career, you will be held back by a 'speedbump', a place where your work, your own curiousity, your own drive to figure things out, your strifing for new heights, will reach a limit. And you do not progress any further. No matter how hard you try, your skills hardly improve on your own effort. At those times it is passion for the art that will drive you to search for that one thing, that one push, that one persone, to go beyond your 'speedbump', and enter a world of new challenges, possibilities and learning.
I am (once again) at such a junction. After working my way up to finally be confident enough to participate in my first GD (as my start of the 'Major League' of painting events) where I earned a finalist pin, I feel that my skills could need that arse kicking to be able to advance to more serious painting events and single handedly learn from the best inspirations out there.

I love painting miniatures, It's one of those things that I'm most passionate about. I'm always trying to improve, and I'd really love to spend a day with some of the best in the business. Meeting new people and learning new techniques would be invaluable. Having never been to a masterclass of any type before I'd love to see what all the fuss is about and hopefully make a few friends along the way!

Way back when it was Tommie who gave me my very first painting lesson.
Since that day I think the level of my painting has progressed, somewhat. However I'd love things to come full circle so Tommie and Mike & Ali, of course, can help really push my skills to the next level.
The areas covered on the day are three that I really need help with but sadly with a wife and three kids at home I can't afford the cost of the ticket.
So please take sympathy on a family man and give me the ticket.

Because after 25 years of self-teaching and trial and error my painting could still best be described as pitiful. Without some serious help I'm doomed to a lifetime of frustration and low-esteem lol. Plus I'll have just had my last uni exam a few days before and could do with the chance to do something enjoyable
I started painting when I was about 15 years old and made some dreadful mistakes, I started with Umbera oil paints and smothered my minis. I started to get into it and read the 'Eavy metal masterclasses and found my skills progressed.
I took a break for several years due to work commitments and my wife having 2 children. In 2009 I was severely injured in Afghanistan and now suffer from sleepless nights, I have found that my biggest stress release is painting models, its the best therapy I have found.
I find now that despite reading books and watching youtube vids that I have hit a limit on what I can self learn. I feel seeing you guys paint in real life would be a massive boost to my painting skills and give me the ability to paint models I am proud of.
My eldest son is now 7 and has started painting and I am passing on my knowledge to him. by the time he is my age he will be a great painter I hope.
