Thats genious!

Plus speaking of Ben Affleck always reminds me of a particular episode of South Park:

Well I'm not surprized about Prometheus. That make 8 people saying exactly the same things after seeing it.
TBH I wasn't expecting a fantastic movie only hoping for a better one that Alien.

And Alien was a serious let down.
When I originally saw that in the cinema, and at the chestburtser scene instead of a blood curdling wail all that was heard was the mewling of a damp kitten, well the whole cinema audience just burst out laughing.

In my opinion there are too few good science fiction movies Bladerunner (in all the incarnations) has to top the list.

I am a big fan of the alien movies and I was very satisfied with this movie. It originally started out as being a direct prequel to alien however Scott decided to take the movie in a new direction with SOME ties to the alien movies. The plot was fine and shed some light on the mystery behind the space jockey as well as the purpose for the ship found on LV-426. Yes, I know this movie does not take place on that same planet but the ships all served the same purpose, as did the cargo.

Of course I would have liked it more if it was a direct prequel to alien but it was still a great movie. Hopefully Scott makes a sequel to it like he is planning to.

Apparently Scott said that 'there would need to be about 2 more movies before you got to Alien'. Not saying that there will be more but was giving you an idea of the time line. I'll wager he's going to do more

oh please stop trashing kirsten stewards. it´s not fair comparing her to emma watson, and besides, who has seen her in anything but twilight or snow white? she did a great job in the land of women, and was proper talented as a child actor. shame she did twilight, really...

Saw the movie yesterday and i must say i enjoyed it, the trick is to put all reference to the "aliens predator" movies out of your mind then this flick falls neatly into place with the other proper alien movies. the only thing i thought was a bit naff was the, warning, ..........(spoiler alert) ......gratuitus reanimated scientist attack imo no need for that they just put it in for something actiony to watch, the only glaring plot holes were the giant alien, shouldnt he meet his end on the flight control couch as viewed in the original "alien" movie and the room where the giants are observed running into but not out of, no bodies ??

Don't start me on plot holes, I'm still thinking why the hell does a women bring a emergency medical 'pod' with her all the way from earth and when a women needs it, the computer says it's only calibrated for a man?!? wtf??

I'm not sure but I think it's set on a different planet altogether than Alien - LV426 was the original this one
is LV3? something.

Yeah them exact same things were my biggest annoyances, especially the reanimated bloke, utterly random. I suppose the ship could be a different one in a later movie/prequel cos im sure this moon was LV226 and the one in alien is LV426, though i havent checked so may be wrong.

I think it was for her dad in his frail condition or for whatever they were planning to do to him treatment wise after they discovered the aliens secret/tech or something, she knew he was aboard too.

All movies have plot holes its hard really for them not to when there are literally millions of people willing to point them out.
For example heres an ALIENS RESURRECTION blooper i'd lay money on it being one of the least thought of, me im special lol,
"clone ripley has molecular acid for blood.......now thats going to be fun come the end of the month not yer standard femanine hygene products thats for sure, no rollerskating with poodles for her"

The way that they're wanting people to see prometheus as the beginning of this saga and to forget the AVP films and pretend they never existed... I feel that we should extend that blotting out to Alien Resurrection too.
