get rid of em all except the original imo, in aliens they are in the process of colonising the original planet Lv ??? and no mention is made of alien spaceships (full to the neck with alien face hugger pods) or giant underground alien munitions factories just the colonist who find a load of face huggers (the hard way). Ressurrection they spend an awful lot of time trying to clone an alien from ripleys blood (alien 3) why not just pop down to the lv ??? and pick up some spare eggs im sure the radiation from the nukes would be managable and i cant see the giant aliens ship being effected by it too much, nope lets just spend a fortune trying to clone em from a spec of 300 year old blood.

Yeah aliens is my favourite too. ......don't know what species is worse! You don't see them fucking each over for a profit!

And

yeah let's nuke em from space it's the only way to be sure.

I went not expecting too much after all the negative press, and was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely not a perfect movie, and sadly not as good as Blade Runner or the original Alien, but not too bad. I feel like a lot of folks were hoping it would be more of an Alien movie, despite being warned that it was not. But I do like that it's a little thought provoking, and takes some time to digest and figure out.

*Spoiler Alert*
For example, hate that the purpose of the facility was so vague that they had to resort to the captain just telling us "This is a weapon's facility, and the weapon got away from them." But, he's just one character making a guess, what if he was wrong. What if it's not. It could be some sort of a failsafe to destroy seeded races that get too big for their own good. They find the map, come there, and trigger a ship which goes back to their home planet and annihilates it. Or similarly may harvest the race as a food source, soldiers, workers, etc. Or there may just be factions within the Engineers, some who create life and some who destroy, who knows.

Anyway, movies that actually start a discussion and provoke some thought (esp sci-fi) are such a rarity from hollywood these days that I appreciated it from that point of view.

i like the idea of different factions at the start of the movie when the giant/engineer seeds earth with his dna the ship above is a full saucer shaped craft the engineer giants ships on the lv planet are u shaped. The creator engineers dont have the suits grafted onto their bodies another difference

So I finally got a chance to see this film... I actually enjoyed it. I really liked fassbender and Theron. I agree the plot could have been better developed, but I like how it adds more to the aliens overall. Guy pearce did seem wasted in the role

I am glad that I waited for the DVD though....

I still hold that the entire plot is played out in the last scene between Shaw and David.
Honestly, if they had removed about 80% of the horror scenes, it would have been an amazing movie, up there with 2001.
