I wanted to achieve a home that's more likely my personality too. It should speak something about what kind of person I am. I think that's the only way to have a real home sweet home. And I need your help. Any suggestions on the interior design and decorations for my new home? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Anyway, I am an art lover and a writer. I am passionate in collecting paintings and canvases as well. I hope this information helps you on how to give me a good advice. Thank you in advance!

You should hire me to do a mural or a nice set of canvases. Especially if you're rich. :sinister:

On a more serious note, it would be hard for us to give you advice on what you'll interpret as a real sweet home. Since we have no idea what kind of a person you are or what your personality is. Other than you like art, which doesn't help us help you since knowing you want art doesn't help decide what type or style of art suits you.

Also, welcome to the forums. Did you realize it's a model painting forum? This thread would do better in the General forum I think.

Paint the walls something else besides white. Find colors that you like but try to keep it light and bright. Watch some design shows those quick makeover shows have some good ideas. Take your time and do it in stages your not going to find everything at once. Over time you can add your personal things that define you. Since your an artist I'm sure you will fill up your walls in no time. You could do the classic hanging of artwork where everything is more or less along an eye level line or you could do a cluster effect where you mix different sizes tightly placed at all different levels. Good luck and congrats on your new home, and welcome to the forums. Oh one last thing make sure you set one room aside for just your painting where you can close the door and hide the mess.

As UglyBug says - don't rush it. I've been in my first home for almost 2 years (I moved in on the 1st July) and learned through living at my Mum's that if you're not 100% sure what you want to do that it's best to sleep on it and decide at a later point. It's very easy to do something that in a month's time you want to change (at additional cost and effort). Also don't go for very bold colours - you will get bored of them and when in time you do sell the property it can make it more difficult to sell. Feature walls can be OK if you pick a nice colour :)

Canvas's are brilliant as they're all "framed" in a similar fashion and a wall of canvas' can look amazing if tessellated properly.

Finally, the old adage of "more is less" really does work, so try not to clutter your house with "stuff" although that's easier said than done :)

Prints of works by old pulp-novel cover artists might work, if you like that sort've art.

This isn't bad. It might work for me. Which pulp novel cover artist you'll recommend turkishproverb if you're the one whose going to choose? I'd love to hear some from you.

It's not like that squidders. I'm just trying to get some ideas and advices. And I will greatly appreciate it. I still believe that from all these gathered ideas, I can create a much better one as to what exactly I want for my home. Or if there are members who can humbly give me shops, garage sales, sites which I can get proper and cheaper display for home or home decorating ideas, I will be very grateful. With my honest intention, I think there's really nothing wrong to hear from other members. :act-up:

Hmm...hard to say, especially since so many of them went anonymous. Probably Fred Craft or Schlakjer (spelling unsure, think there was an I in that one). Depends upon if you want pulp scifi, horror, or mystery really.

What do you mean by that montka?

It is a process that replaces the moisture and fluids in the bodies cell structures with a plastic. Which stabilizes the organic cells, so they don't decompose or rot or anything. And then they carve up the body for display. It's like a colourful form of taxidermy, when done on animals, not sure what you call it when it's done on humans.
