Ultra smurfs..anyone?

I know im probably going to stir up a bit of a hornets nest but why do folks dislike the smurfs so much?
Im only basing this on the general lack of them on both the forums and the gallery.

But i think the general dislike stems from the view that they are boring compared to say the Blood Angels or Space Puppies.

Oh and peeps seldom like the blue scheme. I did a small force years back and i quite liked it.

I also think it stemmed from a time when GW forgot there were other chapters and if you didn't collect Ultramarines, you got no new models.

For me, it is their poster boy image, their strict adherence to the Codex Astartes and their insistence on forcing the Codex on everyone else as the way to carry out war. "Do it this way or you're a heretic!"

Competent enough on the battlefield to not need additional special rules, fancy units and all that other 'I'm so individual' cack

Judging by the voting lately, people have been too busy with the Gray Wolves thingy people figures instance. I remember a couple years ago seeing nothing but smurfs come across for quite a while. Just fan bois spending their money on the latest shiny. Have GW put out a new smurf book and figures and you'll see them pop in.

The other chapters are much more interesting.
Space wolves - grey and feral.
Blood angels - red and crazy.
Dark angels - green and mean (hulks?)
That pretty much covers it, except for the odd Imperial Fist holdout. And yellow is hard to paint properly, so those are self limiting.

Now thats lies...just like the cake! we've all seen your work area, looks like a tropical storm hit just after cleaning out a games work shop wharehouse, cleaning by hand grenade lol.

as for the bigatures they are the first ones i ever did so not up to the current standard, the dreadnought's ok but i think the marines may get recycled if thet make it out of ebay.
