Nice base, if you have time I would appricate a small walkthrough for the stone areas. The smurf is looking great and It will be nice to see it finished.

Dude I'm so sorry for your wife and so for you. Hope everybody will be ok from now on.

I have tried once to paint with fever and it was... the same as if I painted under alcool.

I love the colour of your base, can't wait to see what's next :)

thanks friends! yeah ischa im glad you promptly said "no" to the mirror base. this became so much better although it required a good 10hr+ work...

the marble is pretty easy to make, but then i guess many things are when you know how. it is primed and painted pure white for a start, then i used a sponge with dilluted (codex) grey. the dilution ratio was different so the pattern was not equally strong all over. i deliberately made tidemarks, and afterwards some was enhanched with a brush afterwards, painting some "veins".

then glazed with a mix of gw's old midnight blue and vallejo smoke, creating a green-ish colour. highlighted white. hmm... too bad i didnt make a step by step...

just some lifesigns... this is taking forever but im still enjoying the senmm painting. most of the time at least! however, im yet again having a really sore throat and possibly fever. d'oh! 2013 year of the plague. anyway. don't think im going to paint the upper legs with senmm, just regular nmm. should save me a week for every leg, lol

Pictish Mini Painting

I'm actually a man!
Lovely to see, never seen a contemptor done like this, or an UM one, i have a soft spot for the smurfs :)

The light weathering on the leg is very good, a subtle effect is always very difficult to achieve.

Hope you and yours feel better soon, never nice being unwell :(

That chrome seal on the right leg is just incredible! Great work, Skells. I know you haven't always been a fan of the power armor, but I hope you are enjoying this mini.

It is indeed top notch. The only thing that's odd, to me, is the juxtaposition of the spotless chrome and corrosion around the bolts. It's certainly possible IRL (my sink faucet is spotless, except where the chrome finish is worn), but it seems odd to me. Just my opinion, of course. Not a complaint about your work or choices. :)

looks great to me the chrome seal on the leg is a nice touch and different :) are you going to continue that theme with the pesky chest purity seal?

lovely piece of work. Looks almost like air brush chrome you get on fuel tanks and yet done with a brush. Jealous here! Lol I think my favourite bit though is the steel symbol seal thing on the leg the high contrast steel nmm is simply brilliant.
