Thanks Zab and Demi. Very kind words. One of the reasons I like the ancient historical figures so much is the freedom they give you when it comes to painting. There are some historical eras where the lines between historical and fantasy are blurred. Doesn't take much to turn a historical knight into a fantasy one.
You know, I was thinking about doing some graffiti on the wall. I love the Rome series, just started rewatching the first season. I was definitely inspired by it as I started to plan the base. But I thought graffiti might be too much, didn't want the scene to be too crowded.
Yeah hoplite looks great! I really like how the pigments worked out. What do you use for sealer/fixative?

I think the banner looks good. Very Holy Roman. I think you have to go with Arabian Black for that horse.
