Sven, you can "Pay at the Door" , but there's always a queue and it's kinda slow. (Or seemed so last year)
But pre purchased tickets just slip past, receiving the usual wistful looks from people who didn't plan ahead.

And it is cheaper and you also get to go in half an hour earlier with a smug expression on your face like this

Yeah, what the others said... The line is sloooooooow. I stood in it last year, because I had forgotten about tickets. But, while I stood in line Chris Clayton's wife gave me Chris's ticket as he was judging and didn't need it. Bless those lovely two!

I'll second that; lovely couple, good looking too.

Not long to go now! One week and three days to painting nirvana! Playing it sensibly this time I've got a list of the companies going and I'm trawling across their websites. Listing all the minis which look cool so I can go in and peruse. Last time it was just sensory overload and I'm sure I missed loads of good stuff not going to happen this time.

Also played it sensibly with the Mrs and bought her a nice piece of jewellery for no reason so I'm in the good books ;)

I had a prepared speech for the Oscars which of course will happen next year so I have tailored it slightly for the Euromilitaire award.

AndyG's Acceptance Speech for the Outstanding Achievement in Painting God hood:

(imagine a wild eyed madly gesticulating Robert Downey Junior)

Thank you! Oh! Thank you! I can hardly breathe! I feel so coked-up! And this gold medal - it's soooo shiny! Oh, thank you again! I just want everyone to read in the tabloids that even in my wildest AA meetings, I never would have fantasized that this could ever help me get laid so much. And to the little people out there, I want each of you to know how totally mega-pumped your jealousy makes me feel right now! (punches the air with abandon and sticks the V to a scowling yellow one and a reincarnated frank franzetta)

You know when they first told me I was a God on Earth, I just had to take a minute and brag about how great my painting experiences have been. I guess it all just makes me feel kinda special.

You know, there are so many people to thank! First off though, I want to pay off the judges for giving me this fantastic award! Also, I want to thank tzeentch, for being such a powerful force in my loins. And to the People Under the Stairs, who taught me to take life by the balls. And finally, to all the illegitimate children I sired - I couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you Folkestone, and good night! ;)

Sorry couldn't resist ;)

Joking aside it was fantastic!! TBH I feel I was very lucky indeed to get gold and I'm amazed that I did considering the standard of the painting within the class. Also I feel most strongly that some people didn't get what they deserved. But I'm not going to moan as by God its good to get a gold and I aint gonna give it back!!. Here's some pics.

P.S. congrats to Megazord man and Marta on well deserved golds :good:

If only I'd had the video camera there when AndyG saw what he'd been awarded!
The whole room turned to look at his "WHAT! NO F@@KING WAY GOLD, GOLD"
And then him bouncing around like a Helium filled 6' 5" balloon.

WELL DESERVED ANDY, WELL DESERVED.

Also a big shout out to Adrian Bay VINCENTI for picking up the special World War One prize.

WOWOWOW! Congratulations AndyG! So well deserved! You know, I don't have a medal to send you, but CMON ought to put you on the payroll. Without your help and inspiration I don't think I, nor a lot of other folks, would be painting at the level they are right now!

"Bloody well done mate!" Indeed!
