Incredible start my friend. What are you using to glaze that subtle blue tone on parts of the armor? Also, can I ask your thinking on the armor on top part of both of his legs? You went dark to light in a vertical, and then obviously reversed it on the other side of the plate. Not saying it's wrong or right, or that it looks good or bad, just wondering how you decided on that manner of light placement. Cheers!

Just enchanted blue for the glaze really thinned down tip here is to use saturated colours when you want a thin glaze as the extra pigment and lack of whites mean less streaking. The cuisse light placement just evolved; it was clear that there was going to be a dark to light gradient as it is raised to the light so to make it pop I just did the opposite on the other side of the vertical crease. You get this type of opposite light placement a lot with shiny metals

I picked up some random Vallejo paints the other day and I am really impressed with how nice they are. When I first started I kind of got the impression that they weren't that great. Goes to show you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

While were on about paints I'll will have to give a shout to the new range of scale75 paints.
Got a black n White set of 8 at Euro last week, fantastic!
Great blending with a super matt finish.

i think it depends on the series. I have had problems with clumping of several of their GameColor series (who knows how long theyset on the store shelf though), but their others have been great. I especially like the Air metallics.

I use VMC dark sea blue as well. It is a great paint, but the separation on it is terrible. I have to shake this paint more so than any other vallejo I own.
That sword is stealing the show, as it should. Personally I would have left a bit of highlight (gray white to pure white) under the glaze just for some increased contrast, but it looks great nonetheless.
Ive heard a ton of good things about Scale75 paints. If the missus allowed it, I'd buy their whole entire collection. I'd start by getting the black and whites that Ten describes, because these can be used to cut any color. But then id get their inks, as they remind me of the old GW inks. Then maybe their flesh tones.
