Steff I found if I hold the phone the right way it takes the photo the right way around it only took me two years to figure that out:laugh:

Thanks everyone for the nice comments

BFK nope just white paint with a bit of blue mixed in and water

Hmm might have a word with Lee about something to do with this Gandalf; but in the mean time if you look on the previous page I've written a step by step paint selection recipe.

heres the the latest not sure about the name plate I might get a proper brass plaque from name-it something along the lines of King Conan Aquilonia 31000 BC the painting is pretty much done however very pleased with how it's come out.

Looks amazing. I can't get over the metals. Really really fantastic work. One question though, are you planning to put something under the sword? I guess he could be lifting it up but that's an awkward way to do that. If you're planning to take this to competition you might want to think about it.

I havehad to drool at this about twenty timesto find something to convinceme you haven't turned into a painting god! Lol ;)

So here goes. It may be the photos, but the second layer of marble ( under his feet) doesn't appear to have the marble pattern carried into the front surface.

Now back to worshipping the piece....

Oops will sort that out with the marble. I'm just getting him the moment he lifts up the sword so I'm keeping him like that. Don't know Bailey I might do. Starting on my next one Cerys from war Griffon

Very, very, very excited for you to do Cerys. I seriously learn so much from just looking at your NMM as a WIP that I am happy you are doing such armor. Seriously, I improve every time you paint NMM armor, and on full plate mail that's an awful lot to learn for. Pumped to see where you take this!!!

Mark my words. This will be your next big award mini!

Conan is legit!!!! By the way.....

Yeah, the head does seem a bit too far up when compared with the box art. Also, the weapon doesn't seem to rest on her shoulder, making the pose a bit awkward. Great painting on the face and hair, though.

Yeah thanks Avelorn I never noticed that; it is too long a neck. I just glued it in without really looking I'll snap it off file it down and re-glue same with the arm Ritual.

Yeah don't overdo it though. Try to make the chin flush with the protruding breast plate. As far as resting her mace on her shoulder, it doesn't look like moving her arm about will fix this. I'd probably just press the mace down and glue to shoulder, if that makes sense.
