Ischa - ive been thinking the same, increased the highlights but because its set back in the plinth its hard to get the highlights to stand out.

More work on the armor.

The more you do of this the more I like it! I really like the contrast between the cold skin tones and the warm rusty armour and have made a mental note of it for later reference .

Really like the skin so many diffrent colours in the shading. thumbs up.

Love the browns. I'm doing copper NMM on my current project, which has really give me an appreciation for brown armor. You did a good job with the axe as well. If I were to guess, that is scorched brown blended to 10Ball's Famous Orange Brown, then 10BFOB mixed with VMC Ivory. Yeah?

Since we are on the subject of NMM and VMC paints, I must highly recommend VMC's range of Gray-greens. There are at least 3 and they make for some very subdued, sickly green steel NMM. Give it a try. I'd probably have used it on his axe here, since so many have made this axe that rusty brown look ( though none as purdy as yours).

Lets see a photo of his back mate please. Love the colour on the axe and greaves boots etc. Not so sure about the tongue the shiny bits look a tad wrong?

Bloodfather - following some advice from great painters at GDUK Ive started to make things real simple with my colour mixs so its just leather brown with glazes of dark reds / blues with highlights by adding yellow and ivory.

Andy - just starting on the armor on the back. The shine is from a very thin glaze of tam smoke as you suggested, it looks a bit off on the photos but works irl (looking wet and shiny). Gloss always looks funny on photos at certain angles.
The contrast is a bit crazy on the photos anyway :confused2:

Really nice mate, there is such a depth and richness to the colours. Think we need to do a trade off you teach me your splash the paint on technique and I'll teach you my you just get a lump of green and make this !
