'Small muscle athlete' Somehow that sounds very, very dodgy... :D

The model is looking awesome mate, but to be brutally honest I'm no fan of the green tones on the bronze. It hints of verdigris, and it seems to me that a gladiator wouldn't have such old or ill-kept armour.

i think it depends on with arena the gladiator was fighting in. i guess they werent all fighing in the colosseum.

im impressed by the photographing, almost crystal clean! :good:

it reads to me as well maintained, but a often used piece of equipment wit the dark streaks and small amounts of green. I have noticed similar on brass hammers that are well maintained, but not polished. I niticed more green on the emblazoned wings, i couldsee an argument for cutting it down OR enhancing it to suggest they are tinted/painted green as an arena focal point.

this guy would also be right at home in Thunderdome! Lol. :)

I appreciate everybody's feedback always I've always try to mimic the box art and on there is green patina what I'm seeing is in moviez like pompei and gladiator is weathered and aged metals..these guys were slaves until Russell Crowe enters the coliseum then his Spaniards outfit is crystal clean but all the arenas before it every one had terrible armor very aged garbage..this is what I tried to emulate ...but again thanks for all the feedback this is a clear indicator that art is subjective and Def makes for good conversation.thanks guys.

Top job Mate, I was not too sure about the green either. I think feathering it out at the edges will soften it on the helm, thats the only part I think is a bit strong. I do see that the cloth under the mail is quite similar to the chest armor. Are you going to add some texture or somthing to differentiate it?

I say this because I know you want as much help as we can give.
Tell you what though, I think he could jump out of the screen and masacre all my minis on my desk, he's that good.

no please all the help is great I'm goin to bring the Browns on the cloth up a bit higher again I tried for the most part to keep as close to the box art and it's mostly analogous colors diff shades and tones of browns still keeping the palate limited. At this point the thing I'll address is the Browns after that it be ready to go.and hopefully won't have any problems restrictions him after I put him on a mahogany base. It's still a toss up for me of which piece will be entered as far as cedric the saxon or the gladiator.

Thanks muchos alotos!!! I think that's Spanglish lol!!

I paint my thumb.
Havent seen the other dude yet, freaking outstanding work there, only the bloodied sword looks odd from that angle, would remove some to see the edge more and/or make it darker.

Really nice weathering. I don't mind all the corrosion on the armor. If he fought for a wealthy owner in a major area, he'd probably keep his gear in better shape. But they had gladiators all over the empire. I'm sure some had pretty beat up equipment.

I think either would be a good figure for the competition. I like the gladiator... but I'm a bit biased as Ancient Rome is a big interest of mine. Other people may react better to Cedric as his face is uncovered.
