ooooooooo golden demon eh ? That gold badge of yours with dazzle the judges eyes :)

Good choice on the squad mate, with Me, You & Sproket (well mainly Sproket) we will keep those pesky foreigners at bay ;)

Looks great Andy!

I have a couple of bugs though. I would have kept these to myself but since you mentioned this was up for competition I thought I would share them:

The gem on his chalice looks like it is reflecting light from a different source than the big gem on his shoulder.

The droopy iron halo to me needs to get fixed. You can get a new one on e-bay for cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sisters-of-...30?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item19fb096a9a

Finally, on the steel part of the wings it looks like you are not as smooth as usual. Are you going for a bit of a textured look, like milled steel? If you are going for texture I think you should either make it more textured, or just go full-on smooth blends.

I must agree with Demi. You have a lots of time to competition to make some finishing touches. And good luck wit the rest of the squad ;)

It's very nice and eyecatching but for a competition I agree with Demi on the comments regarding technique.

Taken some advice from Lee and am going to come back to him when the rest of the squad are done and really sort him out as he clearly is the focal point.

anyway going with a veteran tactical squad (just an excuse to do more GOLD) was going to go with jump pack guys but I had these lying about and i am v skint at the mo so here we are. Just the gold helmet and trimmings done needs some glazing in the shadows and then onto the reds.

Hey Andy, what is the highlighted mold line on the sides and the top of the helmet?
my first thought exactly, other painters try to hide the mouldline, Andy make them sparkle! :good: lol

seriously mate relax and fix the lines, i think i see some on the backpack too. sort it out!

I've just looked at the whole batch of them and shit they all have major slippage what I thought was part of the helmet design is were the whole mini is skew whiff. Looks like I'm going to have to eBay some jump pack guys as there's no way I'm gonna be able to sort it out :(

I would probably make the same mistake. It almost just looks like part of the helmet design, doesn't it? Plus it looks like a crack rather than an outward mould line.

Another thing that struck me as odd. I thought you hated painting red? Is this a case of you challenging yourself by attacking your "weaknesses?" I think your red is fine, but I know you hate it....

yep exactly that BFK you only get better by doing the things you struggle with otherwise you just stay at the same level hence me doing plenty of red and free hand recently.
