Happy Mini Day!

GreenOne

I paint my thumb.
On February 14th 2006, either to fight boredom or loneliness, I put a brush to metal for the first time.
Interests in life come and go, so does love, but I always find myself coming back to minis, and ever since it has been my medium of choice for whatever part of creativity there is in my life.
Not being a romantically minded person, in the conventional sense anyway, I associate this date a lot more with acrylics and pewter than I do with Flower-scented-chocolate-hearts, or oral sex.

So I bid you all, ladies and gentlemen, attractive or otherwise; no one needs to feel rejected; a very happy and colorful Mini day.

Indeed, Merry Mini day. This month is my one year CMON anniversary, but also my 9 year anniversary in the Army is today. I will be medically retired in the coming months for injuries sustained while engaged in combat all the way back in 2007. I am in the market for a bust of a U.S. Army Infantryman, modern era. If there isn't something that fits this description, I would be fine with any modern us army infantry minis. Anyone know any good examples? I recall some from Warlord minis, I believe they were called, of infantrymen in various poses or shooting mortars. But a busy is what I am truly after...

I didn't realize it until now, but I also 'celebrated' Valentine's by painting. My fiance happily went off to a party, since I got her a gift at the airport while we traveled home the day before.

Best Valentine's ever. I'll keep this in mind. :)

That shop didn't have it, but Young Miniatures does make a modern soldier bust.

Yes, but he is a Marine :( I am no sailor...

That bust is fairly well done though. Down to the camelbak hose stretching across him. The the proportions of the night optic mount on his helmet is off, too big, but that's ok. The rank on his chest is the metal type that we wear on our patrol caps, and not the sew-on type that we wore at this time.

Mai know I sound incredibly nit-picky. But there just HAS to be a modern regular US Army infantry bust out there.

I'll drop Card Reid a line he's a top notch sculptor and has his pulse on the market.
Met him at Euro, nice guy even if he is a Brummie.:soldier:

That is one ugly soldier! :)

Although he is wearing the desert combat uniform, his vest is something I don't think I've ever seen, which leads me to believe it is Vietnam Era. The pouch on his shoulder is for a compass, and though it is still the current pouch of issue, soldier's haven't worn them in years. This, and his K-pot type helmet, lead me to believe that he is from the 80s. Not to mention, he looks like the type of guy who enlisted for the dental plan :) Thanks though, hadn't seen this one yet.

Lol, entertaining, I'd rather have my threads jacked than forgotten, use that space.
Couple of nice busts herein too.
