Sproket's WIP

Right. I'm just being silly...I have learned when I personally prefer to prime, and also when I prefer not to prime. Also when to prime a super thin layer, or when to prime a thick layer.

On a super detailed, resin mini I will barely spray on a layer. Some hard to reach places get missed altogether because I don't want to risk putting it on too thick while trying to reach these places. Or I may even forget about the primer altogether. I did this on my Cannibal project.

In some cases putting it on thick and heavy is ok. A flat, featureless area, like the side of a tank, or maybe an aircraft wing, can afford to take a lot of primer because there aren't details to risk covering up, and it's also helpful to have the teeth of the primer be strong for the blending required in large flat areas. I often let it on thick when priming my bases too, especially when hitting natural soil or similar material like cork. I'll also prime heavy on my banners because it helps with the subsequent freehanding.

Thats my my preferences for priming. And I definitely use watered down glue on balsa, too. It makes the surface take the paint better, as well as looking more like real wood.

With Salute fast approaching it’s time to put Project Nurgle on the back burner. I’ve now completed painting everything above the (not inconsiderable) waist on Gutrot Spume and I’ve finally base coated everything below. So there’s no more bare plastic to offend the eye! It’s quite a big wrench to put this mini aside but I’d always intended to start a project for Salute at this time.

I know nothing about this 'realistic' you speak of!

The wraps are off my Salute project - It's Infamy's Mole. This will be quite a contrast to Gutrot Spume! The mini is assembled, primed and I've base coated the main areas.

Oh yeah he really does! In fact he is properly pissed off because someone ripped his tailored suit and said that Starwars 1-3 was better than 4-6.

Hopefully I’ll be able to post a Mole update in the next couple of days but ‘real life’ has gone and stuck a spanner in the works.

After two years on a waiting list and many unsuccessful bids my parents have been offered and accepted a maisonette in a sheltered housing scheme. This is fantastic news but having lived all their lives in the same village and 49 years in the same house (they moved in when Mum was expecting me) it’s a very big deal for them! All those weekends I thought I had free for ‘project Mole’ are suddenly looking very full with project ‘moving Mum & Dad’.

I’ll carry on as best I can with Mole but the Salute deadline has to come second in my list of imminent priorities. There are some ‘interesting times’ ahead for the Soper clan.

Sproket just dated himself people....Sounds like it won't be long til you make a similar transition, eh?

But I certainly feel your pain. Let me know how their new living quarters work out for them, as I've been trying to find a suitable senior care center to put Dragonsreach and Fran in.

Benjamin, please remember "Revenge is a dish best served, Cold"

I may be Sixty next January and have Grey hair, but please think on this;
"Do not regard Silvered hair as a sign of age, but a warning that the person has a lifetime of experience in dealing with and dealing out Crap!"

Oh.....and the only way I'm moving out of this house is in a coffin.
