so, to answer your question,.. the last day is the 28th. I'll try to get the groupings worked out tonight, and get the voting threads up.

Here's how it will work. Since we have so many people, I'll randomly assign everyone to a group A,B,C,.. etc. This will be a "semi-final" round. Everyone then gets to vote for their favorite model from each group. (please don't vote for yourself,.. it's poor sportsmanship, and well,.. just plain tacky) So each person voting can vote once per each grouping. After March 15th comes around,.. I'll take the winner from each group, and they will be moved to the "final round",. (Group X). Everyone will then get to vote again on what they think the best of group X is. And that will determine the overall winner.

Does that makes sense to everyone?

Then when we're all done, just get your brushes ready for June,... for our first annual "paint it to look like Dragonsreach" competition,.. j/k

I have failed in this quest.

Painting has eluded me. I blame netflix, troat virus infection, laziness and Crystella.

Good-looking, mate. Can't wait for June then. I have the perfect model to try and replicate Dragonsreach.

In case anyone was wondering about the Carnivean ... yeah, I still couldn't bring myself to paint him.

*I'm still working on mine and she will be done in time :p

Okay, thank you for the info, sounds good. But I guess then I'm out of deadline. I phoned my friend and she has only time on Saturday evening (MET) for the photoshoot. I can't upload before sunday morning (MET).

Sounds like an interesting competition is coming up in June! :) I have no glue if I got the time then, but maybe I get an idea and I'll keep me eyes open for fitting minis.

Marjedi and Gokhm, no way of finishing your entries to some point? I would have been very interested to see them. That said I think I should slap myself and start to finish the Gokan miniature which is untouched for some weeks now...

Jike Ichi, I finished up one of my entries - the Griffin Inquisitor.

The Carnie ... has defeated me yet again. Just one look at it reduces me to hapless tears and groans of frustration.

Finishing this as well as I wanted seems out of the question! But at the very least I'll have something barebones up. I'll prioritize getting the mini right rather than done for the contest, vacation AND illness just made it impossible to get it to the level I wanted in time. I paint way too slow.

lots of people dropping out :|

anyway I'm finished with Shurafinity since about monday, but I was too lazy to take pics (also I fear how it will look like on photo). Will do it today or tomorrow, so while barely, but I'll on time.
(and just compare it to the anime figure that I liked and was ready in a week or so.)

-----
someone wrote, that they'll be able to take pics only on sunday (march 1st) and as that's beyond feb they'll drop out as well. Please don't do. I don't think 1 extra day for the pics matters at all.

For the record: I'm not dropping out. I'm just not handing it in finished. Doing stuff I don't know how to do (like fancy glasswork and freehands) just takes too long.

Yeah, plz enter the unfinished still in WIP model! For me freehands are always a jump into cold water, you just have to start, then you learn how to swim! Same with my entry, I already had shaded the trousers and then was unsure to do a little freehand. But once I started the simple yellow swirl pattern I enjoyed it and it turned out okay. Not perfect, but it surely gives some more atmosphere and character to the model.

Thanks for the reminder Webmonkey. No I'll not vote my miniature, I'm not a politian, I got some backbone! ;)

Okay, I'm not sure, maybe I make it at the last second. As Sunday morning is saturday evening/night in US, right?

:D Which global time we take for deadline!?

That all said I want to tell you all that this competition was fun and I really enjoyed being part of it and reading this thread! Best wishes for all of you!

Thanks guys for letting me enter this comp I really enjoyed it, I live in a fairly rural area of Australia and I dont have too many other guys to look up to for inspiration other than the guys I compete with up the coast in Coffs Harbour .
I hope to compete with you guys some more and look forward to some great creative criticism ,I just hope I can figure out how to use my damn freakin new camera and how to put them in my computer . I think I'll ask my 9year old son for some help

hrmm,.. not many people uploading yet. Did that many people drop out?,... I may need to consolidate down into a single group then.

I had a hunch a while ago that a lot of ppl had/would drop out, seen the interest in the thread, ppl talked about monkeys more then the contest soooo... I vote for a single group list.

I too, have got to sadly, back out of this contest. Too much work on setting up my business and no time or energy to put towards the contest. I would like to say thank you Webmonkey as I have at least made a start on her and will continue her at a slower pace.
