Quantum's WIP

Hi everyone! I've been lurking around here for a long time and you guys have inspired me to start painting my own miniatures and create my own WIP.
Anyway I got my first mini 2 days ago and have had a load of fun painting him. I'm going to completely redo the rock and the tail but everything else that's got paint on it is finished until I get some advice on where to go next with it.

Sorry for the double post! I can't see how to delete a thread so if someone knows please tell me or can a mod do it? Thanks

Thanks ten :) Haha they came out slightly bigger than expected, I'm still learning with all this photography stuff, hopefully the next ones come out better!

they are very good. we are able to see all and with that we can make suggestions what's good, where to improve.

I've been playing around with my camera and seem to have got some better pictures and figured out how to resize them so hopefully it'll all stay on the screen this time!
I've painted most of the non-metal parts now and have just realised that I don't have any metallic paints:thinking: Are there any that are particularly good ones and any I should stay away from or will I be fine with whatever I get (thinking of going VMC). His banner is ready for me to practice some more freehand on but I'm not sure how to get the colours of the design to get brighter/darker with the folds of the cloth, are there any tricks I should know about or will I just need to make lots of very similar coloured mixes?

for metals:
- silver ones: vallejo air color and scale75 are great
- gold ones: scale75, if you don't have them, then VMC

Spent most of today working on the banner, here are my results. Also had a go on the tail but can't manage to get the pink showing through the depressions could anyone give me an idea of how to keep the pink colour in the deepest parts? Also if anyone's got the Big Bruddha package from Painting Buddha could you give me an idea of whether it would be suitable for a complete newbie?

Well it's been a while! I've been painting but haven't had any photos due to my phone getting stolen and having finally replaced it with the 'finest' phone that £50 can buy I realised how bad it (and me!) are at taking photos. Anyway I'll do my best with it, at least I'll have some photos now :)
I've been working on an elf conversion which I'm going to use to really push myself and enter into Salute if I can get it finished to a good enough standard in time, if not then hopefully Golden Demon. The trouble is I have no idea what I want to do for the base; nothing seems to stick in my mind when I'm brainstorming for it so any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, no-matter how complicated or simple.
