honestly i paint nmm a lot faster than real metallics. Nmm you can paint pretty much like everything else in heavier layers, wetblending, etc. tmm i have to carefully glaze shadows to prevent the metal flakes to go dull, taking a lot more time.

Very nice work there. Possibly the left knee shadow needs a little tidying up other than that splendid. I never thought I'd say this but the crotch is outstanding ;)

I was going to say the EXACT same thing. Tho looking at it further, I think the shadow/light placement on the left knee is just incorrect, not neccessarily an execution issue. Feel like the inside of the knee would be in shadow, regardless of the light source.

Skel, why didn't you go with the silver paint glazed over with Smoke for your gold? I love that technique and have properly stolen it in the past.

That's a cool paint job. I like the color selection a lot. Very detailed and very balanced. It almost looks like he took a cannonball to his balls.

Can't wait to see him finished up--looks like you have a lot of cool patterns going on in his side.

BoK, thats entierly depending on location of the light source, taking a reference like this
fatarmor.jpg

im sure you just as easily can find a picture showing your point, as said its all about light source which ive chosen to be from top right on my mini :)

oh and the armor is actually glazed with smoke, the greenish metal making a different look though. cant paint the same all the time ;)

Very nice mate, love the greens on the metals.
Never understood why you would wear armour when firearms are being used !?

ty!
historically i think its close to the break where they stopped using armor in favor for mobility, this guy have more armor than most of the empire dudes though.
i would not like to be a bretonnian knight charging marksmen!

I love that miniature, the Ostermark province has allways been my favorite, the yellow/purple is SO striking.
