Things to Look Out For

Hey guys, so I hace just recently gotten R&B and started painting up some figures. I am really looking forward to not only finishing the lot, but also roping some friends in to play a few games. I am in for the long haul, but demoing has to go just right or I know some people won't like it. My questions to the more experienced folks are -

1) When demoing the game, which side is the most fun for someone who may be on the fence about playing?

2) Are there any specific rules to look out for? They seem straigtforward to me, but are there any particulars that are hard to remember or easy to misread?

I've only played the original two factions, so I can't comment on the others. Wellsport Brotherhood has Tide Cards to let them hit harder, while Bone Devils hand out more status effects. Since you know who you're demoing with, that should help match faction with playstyle. It would seem better to have new people on both sides, so the Tide Cards are an equal surprise to each.

How long of a demo do you plan? If it's something short, you might consider just taking one objective as the win condition to help reinforce the importance of that to the game.

Overall the rules are simple with no gotchas. There is one misprint in the book, where it says that actions can be used without taking an action. It meant to say a reaction. There have been a number of clarifications here and at BGG, but nothing surprising or necessary for general play. If you've played once or twice yourself, you'll have no problems.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response! I am glad to hear that it is pretty"gotcha" free. It sure seemed rhat way when I read it but that is no guarantee these days.

I was intending to demo the full game, mainly because I have quite a few experienced gamers in my group. I do worry a bit about the time though - it seems like it would take close to two hours or more to play, is that estimate relatively accurate? I hate having to pack things up early and unresolved.
