Awesome cat Arch. We have recruited another one to the sculpting ministry of....sculptors? Yes yes the name needs work but welcome to the dark side. Also love the mini you painted came out very well too.

I always liked the old naming conventions of the livery companies in the City of London, that were always referred to as 'Worshipful Companies'. So the guild of candle makers, for example, is the 'worshipful company of tallowmakers'.

so we would be something like: the worshipful company of miniature Battlemakers. Or something. They always referred to the leader of the band as the worshipful master, O Worshipful Master Digga.

We Brits are crap at many things, but pretty good with traditional naming conventions.

Hehe. Although I do like bgcdazzler's suggestion as well - my British roots showing through.

So we have S.C.U.L.P.T. as one option. To follow bgcdazzler's suggestion we could also be The Worshipful Company of the Fantastical Fabricators.

Thoughts?

It means great admirers, fans, lovers of something. So a worshipful company is olde English speak for 'a bunch of people who love mini sculpting and painting so much that they dedicate time, money, sweat, tears and all sorts of other sacrifices in the act of making our sculpts and paintjobs as awesome as possible'. Basically.

So do we have a decision on the name for this ragtag bunch of misfit sculptors?

@Sicks - In glad you like him. Just too many ideas scrambling through my brain at the moment, so he's getting worked on in between other ideas.

I've been working on a bust in polymer clay and it's turning out to be a lot of fun and a learning experience!

Here are some pics for your viewing amusement (I included the cat for an idea of scale):


Note: I am aware that the head is currently out of proportion with the body. That's because I've been focusing on getting the head right first. The body will have clothing etc that adds layers.

Looking good so far Arch. Not sure if it's the colour or the proportions of the top of the head, but he/she looks a little bit like Megamind. Easily fixed with a kebab skewer - I use the flat of the sides to push down big bits of stuff when I want to move them.

The cat is super cute.
