Reading things like 'They turned out ok' about those Old Guard kinda makes my spirits sink to my shoes... I'd be estatic if I'd ever be able to turn out smth about half as good as that
The freehand on that banner makes me drool a little (in a good way, not a brainseizure from awesome-overload kinda way!)

And that duel, the details in the surroundings as well as the skintones are just stunning imo...
The only thing that looks strange to me is the position of the Ogre's left hand in relation to the metal bracelet thing... Almost looks like his wrist has been dislocated down a little bit... Allthought that might just be angle of the picture? (or maybe it is some sort of brain-seizure over on my end...)

Hey friends finally off the plane swedish soil yey. Tip of the day, don't book connecting flights with less than an hour transfer time if you're supposed to do a passport control and the bloody airport is huge. Damnit!

It was a kickass competition, lots of international painters there. I won a silver with konrad curze and a bronse with the Barrow Wight in lotr. Quite happy, although I had high hopes for the duel especially. Also sad my hombre 10ball didn't place this time.

Now, sleep!

yeah Persifal no sight of you at all did see your minis though, very surprised your tau drones didnt make it, they are painted exactly like i imagine the judges would like.

on the other side, my two minis Konrad and the wight are the two absolute darkest minis i ever painted not close to gw style...
everything is up on gws new golden demon site by the way, https://golden-demon.com/ no names of the painters yet though. ugh, Konrad doesnt go well with white background...

so, time to start next year batch, eh?

Doing things for fun is a great thing I have done fast painting for some time now, almost almost time to do a serious project soon again.

Seems like a lot of skin on that figure, looking forward to see the progress.

I think you need to change that arm to a tentacle as it is just weird as sculpted
